LEGO® Mindstorms® EV3 Advanced Robotics program lets the students experience a faster and smarter way of building, programming and commanding robots. This robotics program will help the students create robots that will be programmed by them to perform actions such as drive, shoot, slither, slam, spin and much more. The EV3 robots will truly capture your child’s imagination. This program has been designed for middle and high school students and will instill in them deeper knowledge of engineering and robotics. The duration of each session in this program is 75-120 minutes and the teaching period include 15- 25 sessions. The students have the option of joining First LEGO® League (FLL) groups co-opetition.
Students will learn to program the EV3 robot to tackle obstacles and use various sensors such as light, colors, distance, motion and GPS. By joining the FIRST LEGO® League (FLL) team, students will get opportunity to construct an obstacle track and program the robot to negotiate the obstacles on the track. 2016-2017 competition subject is Animal Allies.
In addition to learning robotic principles, the students are required to invent and create a process or a product that would improve the current conditions of the the subject. They must use research, and write a paper describing their creation. They also have to demonstrate the LEGO® League principles such as group cooperation, team spirit, sharing and sportsmanship.
